Ben leads the team and runs Barn Door in his position as Head of Sport Services at JMW Solicitors LLP.

Responsible for Barn Door’s strategy and growth, Ben’s work includes:

• Sourcing, reviewing and evaluating all new investment and commercial opportunities that sit on the Barn Door platform in sectors including: sports technology and health technology
• Brokering and negotiating commercial deals with athletes, brands and sports rights holders
• Advising clients and leading on consultancy projects having built out a commercial advisory division within JMW to enhance the firm’s sports offering
• Advising on the inception, fundraising process and commercial growth strategy for investment companies, consumer facing challenger brands and early stage businesses

Ben’s work at the intersection of athletes and investors aligning themselves with early stage consumer and impact start-up businesses in sports, health and wellness has seen him keynote and comment in public on matters concerning athlete welfare, brand building and the sports tech industry, including representing Barn Door on a number of panels.

Away from work, Ben is an avid sportsman himself. Season dependent, he has been touted as a fair-weather footballer, golfer and tennis player. When not out playing sport, you can find him at Old Trafford, or pursuing his other interests, including a keen passion for travel.
