Mike, our deal maker, is a corporate lawyer with over 20 years experience. He is an expert in sports and media law acting for clubs, federations, brands and sportsmen and women.
Mike has advised on the sale and distribution of domestic and international television, radio and new media rights for the PSL (South African Premier League), various EPL Clubs, the Football Association of Thailand, (£53 million) and the RFL deal with Sky for £175 million. Mike also deals with the contracts and image rights of many international footballers, rugby players, swimmers and fighters.
Mike advised Manchester United and led its legal team on the ground breaking £302 million sale of it its merchandising business and sponsorship deal with Nike.
Despite his role as a lawyer, Mike has always been keen to pursue activities outside of the law. He was founder-director of AIM Group Plc a property advisory and fund management company which completed £2 billion of deals between 2006-2009 including £120 million new town development in Nagpur India, and also was a founding director of a sports consultancy business advising on foreign tours and setting up professional leagues.
Mike is on the board of directors at Premiership rugby club, Sale Sharks. In a former life, he was a semi-professional winger for Manchester Rugby Club in the Championship (averagely paced and averagely paid).
